New Initiatives
Here at Baan Dek, Community is very important. It's a pillar of our program.
We're always looking for new ways to enrich the Montessori experience. In an effort to strengthen the community, we're pleased to introduce three new initiatives.
1. Parent Library: Our Parent Library is for our parents, and members of the community. We'll have a selection of titles on hand to check out. Some of them are specific to Montessori, while others are meant to prompt interest and discussion.
2. Children's Library: We've been working on our Children's Library for quite some time, and are pleased to make a selection of titles available. Hardly anything is more exiting than finding a great children's book. Hope you enjoy these titles. Also, we're open to hearing your suggestions!
3. Baan Dek Reading Group: Personally, this is one of our favorite new features. We're extremely excited to be able to offer a reading group. We'll host a discussion, once a month. We've picked out the first few titles, but would love to have your input.
Our first discussion will be on the book, Mindset, by Carol Dweck, and will take place in late January. The discussion will be led by our new parent, and friend, Hugh Weber. These initiatives will all start in January, when we relocate to our new space.
