Q: Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself? Your background, your interests, your dreams?

I’m from Dell Rapids, SD & grew up in the country with my parents and 2 brothers! I was active in sports in high school and continued cheering in college at Wayne State. I graduated with my elementary education degree and have taught for 3 years. I have been around children my whole life and enjoy getting to see them grow and learn right before my eyes.

Q: How were you first introduced to Montessori?

I nannied for a family and their oldest went to Montessori.

Q: What was it about Montessori that resonated with you?

I love the student-led mentality at Montessori! Students are allowed to challenge themselves as much as they would like and are driven to move on to the next skill because it is on their time. Mistakes are used as learning lessons and create more opportunity for the student to grow.

Q: What brought you to Baan Dek?

I really enjoyed researching the Montessori teaching style and after watching the videos on the Baan Dek website I felt it would be a good fit for me.

Neutrals, black & pink!

Q: How do you like to spend your free time?

I live a very social life. I love to be around my family and friends, traveling the world, trying new restaurants and being at the lake.

Q: What is your favorite animal and why?

Giraffes are my favorite animal because they are very unique. Also they are tall which is very opposite of me so I think it would be cool to see things from their height!

Q: What’s a fun fact about your life?

I am a huge adventure junkie! I love roller coasters! I have cliff jumped & enjoy trying new water sports!
