Ribbon Cutting

Yesterday, we had our official Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting. Note the giant scissors, and a timid London, peering out to the crowd from behind the scenes. We wanted to take this opportunity to thank those who attended the ceremony, and share some of the words mentioned for those who were unable to attend.

Here’s our little celebration speech: “Thank you for your support of Baan Dek! It’s been quite an adventure so far, and we’re just getting started. Sioux Falls is such a great community, and we feel humbled to be a part of it. We love what we do, and we hope that it’s reflected in everything that you see.

At the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, often considered the inception of modern education, a single inscription was posted on the entrance to the school, ‘Know Thyself’. Well, for us, here at Baan Dek, our motto would read something like this: “You did it.” Which simply means, absoluting nothing is impossible.

Thank you to the Van Buskirk’s for making this transition to a new space such a painless process, and a special thanks to our family, Darlene, Jennifer and Dave, for their tireless support and enthusiasm.”
