Before School Activities

In before care, many students take the opportunity to help get the classroom ready for their friends. Here’s a picture of one of our three year old students, carefully folding the laundry, sorting the towels and polishing clothes, preparing them to put away in the laundry cabinet. Taking care of the environment, empowering children to be able to accomplish tasks on their own, is a vital component to a Montessori classroom. You see, for us, as adults, we do tasks to get them done, but for children, they do it because they enjoy the process. They’re trying to master their movements and satisfy an inner need.
