As we head into a new school year, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to the entire Baan Dek team. Well, we’re more than just a team. We like to consider ourselves a family: a community of educational-artisans, working to handcraft personalized learning experiences, in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. While every one of our team is back this year, we’ve added two more awesome members, and some of us have brand new roles and responsibilities. Meet the team!
Meet Mrs. Geiger – Bamboo Room
Mrs. Geiger received her Association Montessori Internationale training from the prestigious Montessori Internationales Ausbildungszentrum e.V. training center in Munich, Germany.

Meet Ms. Jones – Bamboo Room
Ms. Jones holds a BA in Education from the University of Nebraska. She is currently completing her Association Montessori Internationale Primary Training, which will certify her to become a lead directress, from the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis.

Meet Ms. Skaff – Lotus Room
Ms. Skaff graduated from the University of Nebraska, where she holds a BA in Education. She trained at the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis, and is the lead directress. Ms. Skaff was previously an assistant in the Bamboo Room.

Meet Ms. McCann – Lotus Room
A South Dakota native, Ms. McCann eagerly joins our team this fall. She holds a degree in Communication Studies from The University of South Dakota, and has a passion for working with children and families.

Meet Mrs. Bauer – Orchid Room
Mrs. Bauer graduated from Northwestern College, where she holds a BA in Education. Jamie received her Association Montessori Internationale training from the Montessori Institute of Denver.

Meet Ms. Dooyema – Orchid Room
Ms. Dooyema joined us working in an administrative capacity, but has since branched out to become the assistant in the Toddler Community. Ms. Dooyema plans to head to Denver this Summer to complete her Association Montessori Internationale teacher training..

Meet Mrs. George – Head of School
Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, June has a BA from Chulalongkorn University and a Master’s from the University of Warwick. June obtained her Association Montessori Internationale training from the Montessori Training Organization in London, England.

Meet Mr. George – Creative Director
Originally from Sioux Falls, SD, Bobby has a BA from Lehigh University, a Master’s from the University of Warwick, and a PhD from Kingston University.

Meet Ms. Wood – Communications Coordinator
Originally from California, Ms. Wood has a BA from San Diego State and a MA from Loyola University. Charlotte completed her Association Montessori Internationale training at the Montessori Institute Northwest.

Meet Wen Duan – Jack-of-all-Trades
We affectionately refer to Ms. Duan as our “jack of all trades”. A trained designer, she will work in a creative, administrative role with Mr. and Mrs. George on daily tasks, including being our resident photographer.

Meet Megan Jervik – Intern
We’re pretty excited to welcome our first ever intern, Mrs. Jervik. She’ll be with us for the next few months, and we’re sure we’ll learn as much from her as she will from us.
It’s going to be a great year. The type of year that makes all the difference. We can’t wait. If we can help with anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Best of luck to all of those who are headed back to school.
