New Sense of Education
Thoughts & Reflections
Yesterday, we captured one of our older students eager to experiment with the cylinder blocks. Of course, she’s long perfected the work, but something new drew her back into the activity.
She wanted to try it out, blindfolded.
In Montessori, there are many layers to the activities. Just because you’ve accomplished the task one way, doesn’t mean you can’t try it out another way. There’s something fundamental about this approach.
It works.
Montessori follows a long philosophical tradition, a history that believes, scientifically and pedagogically, that we come to experience the world through our senses.
Watch as she navigates this familiar terrain, with a new found awareness. It offers an insight into a new sense of education.
