At Baan Dek, we take great pride in our community. Not only in our growing Montessori community, but also in the city of Sioux Falls and the state of South Dakota as whole. That’s why we’re proud to announce that we’re an official sponsor of the OTA Sessions.

What is OTA? Here’s the tagline from their website:

“Creativity and originality of thought are critical to our success as a region, but without action and implementation it’s all just idle chitchat. OTA challenges us to bring originality and action together.”

All too often there is a perception that in order to find true creativity, originality and innovation, we need to leave the Midwest. That we need to recruit new talents, because we just don’t have what it takes. Well, OTA is out to disprove this perception.

“In 2010, over 250 people from the OTA states (South DakOTA, North DakOTA, & MinnesOTA) and surrounding areas gathered at the Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls to shatter the perception that creativity and thought leadership in business, marketing, communications and education live solely on the east and west coasts. While that first year was a success, we think we can do even better.”

For OTA, community is more than a word, it’s a value. Some might say, it’s a way of life. Baan Dek is honored to a part of this germinal campaign to reinvigorate and showcase the many talents of the Midwest.

Together, we’re hoping we can put originality into action.
