Principles of the Montessori Guide

  1. Believe in each and every child, unconditionally and with love and respect.
  2. Foster independence, and an ability to overcome obstacles, by asking open-ended questions.
  3. Help children to invent new questions, and find their own solutions.
  4. Never break the concentration of a child who is focused.
  5. Help to create a link between the child and the prepared environment.
  6. Observe and follow the interests of each and every child on an individual basis.
  7. Evaluate, on a daily basis, the progress of each individual student.
  8. Support, encourage and offer a non-judgemental acceptance of each child.
  9. Don’t look for mistakes. They look for ways in which to support.
  10. Believe in each and every child’s abilities. Yep. We said that twice. That’s how important it is!

These are the principles of the Montessori guide.
